Dr Azar MahmoumGonbadi PhD

Lecturer in Business Analytics

Azar is a Lecturer in Business Analytics at the University of Greenwich, with a background in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management. Her research focuses on the transition towards a circular economy and the application of machine learning techniques in sustainable systems. She has published papers employing fuzzy methodologies, systematic literature reviews, and developed mathematical modelling toolkits to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy.
In addition to her academic work, Azar has industry experience as a production planner and has undertaken several secondments across Europe to support organisations in measuring and enhancing their circularity, including projects with Tata Steel, Reciclec, and Fael in Spain. Since joining the University of Greenwich, she has successfully secured several research grants to advance her work in sustainability and circular economy innovation.
