Parissa Baig
Lecturer in Strategic Entrepreneurship
Dr. Parissa joined School of Business, Operations and Strategy at the University of Greenwich in 2021, assuming the role of Lecturer in Strategic Entrepreneurship. Her journey in academia began in 2019 at Henley Business School, where she laid the foundation for her career.
Dr. Parissa’s doctoral research contributes significantly to the ongoing discourse surrounding the paradox of embedded agency. Her study explores the intricate relationship between institutional entrepreneurship and legitimacy, delving into the mechanisms that that allows an institutional innovation to become a legitimate entity.
Dr. Parissa's research interests extend beyond institutional entrepreneurship to encompass a wide array of topics such as entrepreneurship, institutional change, organisational behaviour, as well as entrepreneurial teams and ecosystems. Her scholarly endeavours have earned her the privilege of presenting her findings at prestigious conferences including the British Academy of Management (BAM), Association of Business Historians (ABH), and the European Group of Organizational Studies (EGOS).
Currenty, Dr.Parissa teaches on undergraduate programmes in the Business School covering a range of modules, including Small Business Development, Managing Quality in Services and Products; and Thematic Independent Studies. In addition, she supervises MSc student projects and dissertations.
Parissa is also a fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy. She deploys her training from Babson College (Massachusetts, USA) to enhance students' experience in a wide range of undergraduate entrepreneurship and management modules.
