Key details
Lana Yi
PhD research student
My PhD research investigates online Chinese feminism and self-gifting of lingerie from an intersectional perspective, within the context of contemporary Chinese consumer culture. My supervisors are Dr Menna Jones, Professor Fatema Kawaf, and Dr Maria Gebbels. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as a marketing manager for an e-commerce company in Shanghai, where I supported the market development of several European lingerie brands in China. This experience sparked my academic interest in feminism and self-gifting practices. I also have project management experience at a technology company that collaborated with Apple. I hold an MA in Design Innovation from Loughborough University and a BA in Digital Media Art from Northwest Normal University. |
