Dr. Muhammad Arsalan Nazir currently works as a Lecturer (Academic & Research) in Entrepreneurship at the Executive Business Centre in the University of Greenwich Business School, London. He previously worked as an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Faculty of Marketing and Entrepreneurship Group (Research and Teaching) at Bahria University Business School, Islamabad, Pakistan. Dr. Nazir has also worked at NUST Business School, National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad as a faculty member, and collaborated with PIs (Principal Investigators) on various Research & Development (R&D) projects at Suleman Dawood School of Business, LUMS, Pakistan. Dr. Nazir research on the subject is published in international peer-reviewed journals including International Review of Entrepreneurship, Journal of Organizational Studies and Innovation, British Academy of Management, Innovation and Development and many others.

Dr. Nazir holds a PhD in Business Studies with a specialisation of (Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Small Business Management) from the University of Teesside Business School, UK. He also earned an MBA in General Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University - Cardiff School of Management and a Masters of Science (MSc) in Marketing and Business Management from the University of Bedfordshire School of Business, UK. He is currently a candidate for the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in the United States.

Whilst working as a private sector business and marketing development expert based in London for almost a decade, Dr. Nazir additionally has extensive research experience in the study of SMEs, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for economic growth, in the context of developed and emerging economies, particularly in South Asia. He has presented papers at international conferences, attended several research and teaching conferences and workshops. His research and publications have specifically focused on the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and enterprise development in developing countries. The objective is to determine the growth of technological entrepreneurship capabilities of several companies, and then compare the results with those of other regional players in the Asian and Western context. He is also a Fellow of the British Academy of Management (BAM), UK and a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities within the university

As a module leader, Dr. Nazir designed, supervised and delivered a range of postgraduate and undergraduate courses in the International Business Management and Executive MBA cohort. Some modules include:

Dr. Nazir welcomes PhD students and is glad to collaborate with researchers share the same research interested in entrepreneurship and innovation in SMEs and international business management topics, including marketing management.

Awards

While working on some of the projects, Dr. Nazir was selected as a finalist in recognition of participation in the 2013 Professional Challenges. Dr. Nazir received a certificate for this and considers it one of his major accomplishments in the MSc course at the University of Bedfordshire.

Recognition

Dr. Nazir is also a Fellow of the British Academy of Management (BAM) and a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Academy of Entrepreneurship Journal of Allied Academics, London, UK.

Research / Scholarly interests

Dr. Nazir currently accepts PhD students and collaborates with researchers in interested research areas of entrepreneurship and technology innovation in SMEs, entrepreneurship marketing, entrepreneurial behaviour in family firms, entrepreneurship growth & firm prosperity, information and communication technologies in business, Western, developing, and emerging trends/economies and high-tech business startups and incubation centre (University and external based).

He is also interested in researching Web 3.0 technologies such as AI, machine learning and blockchain technology for the growth of small business management.
