Dr Nauman Moazam Ali is an experienced academic and programme leader with over 25 years of professional and academic experience. He has experience in delivering and managing business and management programmes across UK higher education. His teaching spans foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with subject expertise in business analytics, data management, operations management, technology management, technology transformation, strategy, and digital marketing.

Dr Ali has held academic roles with different HE institutions. His academic practice includes online module leadership, curriculum development, quality assurance, digital content management, virtual learning environments, digital pedagogy and student engagement.

Alongside his academic career, Dr Ali has extensive industry experience in business analysis, training, operations and transformation. He brings this practitioner background into his teaching and scholarly work, with a particular focus on data-informed decision making, digital transformation and applied business practice. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Sheffield Hallam University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Responsibilities within the university

  • Lead the development, delivery, currency and continuous enhancement of the module, ensuring alignment with wider programme aims and university priorities.
  • Create, review and update module materials in partnership with learning designers and programme lead.
  • Promote inclusive, accessible and effective pedagogic practice across online and blended learning environments, making proactive use of learning technologies and digital tools.
  • Coordinate assessment and feedback processes, including assessment preparation, marking, moderation, feedback release and compliance with the university's assessment and feedback policy.
  • Support student induction, engagement, continuation and success by providing clear module information, coordinating academic support and monitoring progression.
  • Work proactively with student representatives and the wider cohort to respond to student voice, enhance the learning experience and close the feedback loop.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and annual programme monitoring by reviewing module-level data, pass rates, student evaluations, continuation, attainment, awarding gap metrics, External Examiner feedback and relevant PSRB requirements.
  • Contribute to curriculum design, programme modification, marketing and recruitment activity, academic administration and resource management.
  • Uphold University requirements relating to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, accessibility, information security, data protection, health and safety, sustainability and resource-efficient working.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development in subject expertise, online education, module leadership and pedagogic practice while working collaboratively, proactively and to agreed deadlines.
