Dr Bawan Ahmed BPharm, MSc, PhD

Dr Bawan Ahmed is a trained pharmacist who holds a Master’s degree with distinction from King’s College London and a PhD from the University of Greenwich. Bawan’s work mainly focuses on clinical therapeutics, specifically meta-sciences and the synthesis of clinical evidence for therapeutic interventions (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) in managing and treating both acute and chronic diseases.

He employs methods such as Network and Component Network Meta-Analysis to assess the effectiveness and safety of multiple and complex healthcare interventions. Bawan also has a strong interest and experience in clinical research, clinical guideline development, and Evidence-Based Medicine. In addition, Bawan is an experienced scientist in the field of medicine quality, detection and prevention of falsified and substandard medicines. For this contribution, he has been awarded the prestigious Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Leadership in Pharmacy Award. Overall, Bawan’s work aims to inform clinical practice, develop guidelines, and support regulatory decisions to improve patient outcomes and safety.
