Health and social care

As a health and social care student at Greenwich, you can expect research-active expert tutors, work placements and great job prospects thanks to our strong links with social care providers.

New £5,000-a-year bursaries

From September 2020, students in nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, and speech & language therapy will receive at least £5,000 a year towards their studies.

Our courses

We offer degrees in health and social care as well as speech and language therapy. You can study full-time, part-time, or take a sandwich degree, which includes a work placement year. Our extended course in public health has a foundation year to prepare you for degree-level study.

Communities and societies

Our active student-led societies offer a space for personal and academic growth, as well as new opportunities to make lasting friendships. Students can take part in activities throughout the year, both through the department and via the wider Students’ Union.

Research and partnerships

We have a history of carrying out specific and multidisciplinary activity across a range of research and enterprise contexts including the delivery of training and CPD.

The Nation’s Lifesaver

Dr Lesley Dibley’s innovate research into gastroenterology has been shared with 2,500 surgeons and 1,00 specialist nurses across Europe and given a voice to marginalised patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
