Gillian Godwin
Lecturer in Midwifery
Gillian Godwin joined the Academic team at the University of Greenwich in October 2025 as midwifery Lecturer. She qualified as a midwife in Germany in 2004 and relocated to England in 2005 to continue her professional development.
At Kings College Hospital, she has since worked in all areas of clinical midwifery and has engaged in teaching staff and students in clinical skills. Her clinical roles also included being a high-risk midwife and being part of bereavement midwifery team, new-born examiner, Research midwife and qualified Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA).
Before joining the Academic team at Greenwich, she was a senior Midwifery Lecturer at Kingston University and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Gillian is looking forward to supporting the midwifery students in developing their midwifery skills and growing in her personal development and experience as a member of the midwifery academic team.
