Hui Xie is a Senior Lecturer in Evacuation Modelling at the University of Greenwich. He has worked both in academia and a commercial consulting firm with 14 years of experience in the field of mathematical modelling, evacuation dynamics, and data collection to understand human behaviour during emergencies.

Hui has contributed to numerous high-profile research projects funded by government agencies in the UK and US, addressing critical issues such as evacuation of high-rise residential buildings, wildland-urban interface fire evacuation, COVID-19 transmission risks in mass events, and air travel safety during viral outbreaks.

His expertise spans data analysis, evacuation modelling, model development, programming, and project management, underpinned by a commitment to improving public safety through evidence-based research.
