Mr Mohammed Khandaker BSc, MSc, PGD & PhD (waiting for degree award)

PhD Researcher

Mohammed is a marine biologist and aquaculturist specialising in Penaeus monodon (giant tiger prawn) and Oreochromis niloticus (tilapia). His research interests include vertical farming and growing exotic and Asian vegetables using aquaponics. He completed his BSc (Hons) in Marine Sciences and MSc in Aquaculture at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh.  After working in prawn hatcheries, he moved to England for further studies. He completed an MSc in Biotechnology and Management at the University of East London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business at Anglia Ruskin University. He joined the University of Greenwich in 2015 with a Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarship to undertake research on the potential for vertical aquaponics and growing Asian and other exotic vegetables using aquaponics.
