The Student Conference

Our conference for students, by students. On 25-26 May our students and alumni will be discussing their success, how to define it, to build FOR it and ON it. Find out more and join in.

These two days are really about celebrating success. It's about really stepping back and saying, 'this is about what I have achieved, this is about what I can achieve' - Jane Harrington, Vice-Chancellor

Join the conference

This is a conference 'for students, by students' where our student presenters will share their experiences and reflections on success. You could also hear from our guest speakers. Full details about the conference, including why and how you can take part are on our detailed Student Conference Pages.

On Day 1, in addition to student panels on What is success? Are you recognising your successes? and A mindset for success: adopting a growth mindset as a starting point for success, attendees will listen to Magid Magid – a compassionate disrupter - sharing his experiences of being a young Mayor of Sheffield, MEP, Charity organiser and author. You could also hear insights from LinkedIn Learning’ Simon Lee, as well as from our student, Laura Shepherd (first year BSc Sociology and Psychology).

On Day 2, we will have student panels on ‘Reflecting for success: understanding your strengths and weaknesses to achieve success’ as well as ‘Opportunities for success: identifying the services and support on offer to sustain and maintain your journey to success’ featuring our guest sector expert, Wonkhe’s Jim Dickinson. Join our Greenwich alumnus, Mete Coban MBE, Chief Executive of My Life My Say, as well as Charlton Athletic’s Jono Smith for opportunities and benefits with our partner. After recognising success in failures with our PhD student, Lousie Usher, you could be joining a CV-building insight session with Studiosity’s Lisa Abrahams.
