Getting a placement or graduate role is rarely straightforward. It takes preparation, persistence, and - more often than not - the right support at the right time.
At Greenwich Business School, the Employability Team works directly with students to sharpen their applications, build interview confidence and navigate a competitive job market. Here's what seven students have to say about the experience - and where it took them.
Jem Kemal - BA Accounting and Finance
Jem used a combination of one-to-one coaching and the Placement Preparation Programme to prepare for the spring week application season - and came away with not one but two opportunities at PwC.

Chandana Narayana Venkatachalapathy - BA (Hons) Business Management
Chandana combined mock assessments with real companies, one-to-one CV support and interview preparation sessions to secure a placement at L'Oréal. Her advice cuts straight to the point.

Viktoriia Bulanova - BA (Hons) International Business
Viktoriia joined the Career Catalyst Programme to sharpen her applications and interview technique - and secured a role at Amazon without the drawn-out process of applying to hundreds of positions.
"I don't think I would have gained the same level of confidence by practising with an AI interview tool alone. Having personalised coaching gave me the confidence to realise that passing an interview isn't as complicated as it seems."
Yasmina Sanon - BA Human Resources Management
For Yasmina, the turning point was learning how to reframe her existing experience in terms employers could clearly understand - and approaching interviews as a two-way conversation. She landed a placement at New Look.

George Miller - BA Finance and Investment Banking
George joined the 10-week Career Catalyst Programme with the basics in place but without a clear sense of direction. By the end, he had a job offer - and has since started a Vice President role in Capital Markets at a boutique advisory firm.
"Each session, I would leave with something I could act upon directly. The programme guided me from minimal interviews to a job offer on the table."
Zahirah Khanom - BA (Hons) Business Management
Zahirah knew she wanted a placement but wasn't sure where to start. After working through rejections with ongoing support from the team, she secured a Marketing and Communications Internship at StepStone Group - and is currently helping coordinate a 360 Conference in New York.
