Current third year BSc Hons Adult Nursing student, Abimbola Adejumot, takes us through what it is like to study at Greenwich

“I chose the University of Greenwich to study at, because it is very local to me” Abimbola told us. “I have had a wonderful experience so far. I am the Cohort Rep for my year group, and I love it.” Abimbola also mentioned that she thoroughly enjoys her classes.

Abimbola hopes to become a Registered Nurse by the end of her course - then in the future, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. When we asked the Adult Nursing student about her lecturers, she responded, “My lecturers are brilliant individuals, this includes the ones who taught me in year one and two of my programme. They are professionals and role models to many of us.”

In regard to placements, Abimbola revealed that every placement has its ups and downs “However I love every positive experience and learn from the negative ones.” she told us.

As the Cohort Rep, Abimbola is quite well known and says that she has met wonderful individuals on the course both at the university and on placement and is always there to help her peers if she can.

We asked Abimbola if she would recommend the BSc Adult Nursing course. “Definitely! One million percent. In fact, I always question myself, why did I not do it a long time ago?”

Abimbola closed the interview by praising the way the academics acted during the height of the pandemic. “The Adult Nursing teaching team were fantastic over the Covid restriction period, they should be very proud of themselves. From me and my cohort, thank you very much.”

We wish Abimbola all the best for the future and thank her for talking with us!
