Laura found that our BSc Paramedic Sciences course offered her everything she needed to become a paramedic and make a real difference to people’s lives.

Laura is studying on a BSc Hons Paramedic Science at the University of Greenwich. "One of the reasons I chose Greenwich was because of its outstanding reputation. In addition, Greenwich allowed me to apply with my International Baccalaureate Diploma which was something that other universities did not." she says.

During her course, she was pleasantly surprised by her experience: "So far it has been an amazing journey and exceeded my expectations. The lecturers come from a paramedic background, with differing teaching styles and without exception are supportive and always available to give advice or just listen" she says.

Laura has thoroughly enjoyed her course and she found one of the most rewarding parts to be her placement: "It was a bit intimidating and difficult, at the beginning but with some time, practice and encouragement, I am enjoying my placement a lot. Luckily, I have been fortunate to have amazing colleagues, both in the ambulance service and where I work. Everyone has my best interests at heart".

She goes on to say: "I've already gained the skills and knowledge to be able to benefit others. It is up to me to apply and try to perfect those skills, to keep up to date with the changes coming from sharing best practice, and to continue with training".

Laura aims to work for the NHS when she graduates and hopes to take what she has learned from her time at Greenwich so that she can really make a difference, "I would highly recommend this course to anyone considering Paramedic Science because it fully supports your development through a great team of lecturers and the countless opportunities you have throughout your degree".
