Reminder: upgrade to Windows 11 by 8 October

Windows 10 support ends this month, and the deadline for upgrading is almost here. Please check now to make sure your devices are ready.

Who does this apply to?

  • Forced upgrades mainly apply to desktop PCs.
  • If you use a staff Intune-managed laptop, this does not apply to you.
  • A small number of unmanaged laptops may be included - check our list to be sure.
  • All FES devices are excluded from the forced upgrade; they will be upgraded at a later date.

Check your device and act now to avoid disruption

We now have a list of UG numbers for devices scheduled for a forced upgrade this weekend.

Important: You must be logged in to IT Self-Service to view the list and upgrade instructions. If you can’t access the page, please log in using the link at the top of the self-service screen.

How to check your Windows version

Press Windows key + R, type winver, and press Enter. A pop-up will show your Windows version.

What happens after support ends?

After support ends, Windows 10 devices will not connect to the network. Any files stored locally will not be backed up or recoverable. Please save your work in Microsoft 365.

If you have questions or need help, contact the IT Service Desk.
