The Educational Trust is an education charity established and funded by the CISI, the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments. The purpose and aim of the Trust is to focus on developing transferable skills in students at schools, colleges and further education parts of the financial services sector, as well as working with young adults at apprenticeship and university levels.

Ilona Wrzeszcz, a 3rd year law student at the University of Greenwich has been awarded as an overall winner at the Educational Trust Awards 2021 in the Undergraduate Students category.

Students are selected based on excellence in university projects or examinations and are then invited to submit an essay of 400 words for the opportunity to attend an interview with members of the Educational Trust. The interview day provides the students with the opportunity to visit the CISI offices, network with the CISI Educational Trust and achieve an additional award at the discretion of the Trust.

Ilona said:

‘I am absolutely delighted to be the winner! I still cannot believe it. The participation had been challenging in itself and particularly difficult alongside my degree and full-time job. But, I have loved it every step of the way. The participation and my finance module have opened my eyes to career opportunities that are out there.

‘I want to say thank you for all of the support and confidence boost that my tutors have given me throughout the whole competition. I want to thank them for their efforts to partner with CISI. I would have not been able to win if it had it not been for their efforts and commitment to give students the extra opportunities. I cannot explain how extremely happy I am about choosing the finance module that led me up to this point. I will always be grateful to them.’
