Report + Support is here for you

Whether you want to disclose an incident, talk to us to discuss your reporting options or access tailored help and support, Report + Support is here for you.

Report + Support is the university’s online platform where students, staff and visitors to the university can disclose how they have been affected by different forms of harassment, including bullying, discrimination, hate crime, and/or sexual misconduct.

The Report + Support homepage now features three main sections: Our Areas of Work; Students; and Staff; with tailored information for each section to offer more streamlined guidance and simple navigation to improve access to support.

Two new features have also been introduced: Secure, “Two-Way Anonymous Messaging” and an additional disclosure option to “Refer Someone Else.”

Using Report + Support

You can disclose something that you experienced, something that you witnessed, or you can disclose on behalf of someone else (with their consent). This could be something that happened recently or something that happened in the past; on campus, off campus or online; and whether the individual(s) responsible is a member of our community or a member of the public.

The platform enables you to disclose anonymously, opt-in to communicate via two-way anonymous messaging, refer someone else or you can ask to speak to an advisor. An anonymous disclosure means that the team are unable to contact you directly, however Report + Support will use the disclosure to monitor any trends or themes and enable the team to take indirect action, such as training and awareness sessions, and further outreach. If you choose to opt-in to use the confidential messaging feature, you can stay anonymous while communicating with specially trained advisers until you feel ready to share your details.

If you choose to speak to an advisor, the Report and Support Team will contact you to provide an overview of the reporting options and support available, so that you can make an informed decision on next steps. You will be contacted within two university working days and will then be invited to a meeting to discuss your options. This meeting is confidential and does not trigger any formal procedures.

Similarly, you can choose to refer someone else to share an incident of harassment or harmful behaviour on behalf of another person. This allows Report + Support to reach out and offer support to the person affected, where possible, within two university working days and give them a choice about what happens next.

The Report and Support Team will advise you accordingly and signpost you to the most relevant services. They can also help you liaise with different services and coordinate practical support to avoid repetition of disclosure.

Please visit the Campaigns section on the Report and Support website if you would like to find out more or get involved with their preventative work, such as their Awareness Raising Sessions and their Consent Sessions.
