The Department for Education has not yet confirmed the Home tuition fee limit and the value of maintenance loans from September 2026.
If you are an international student or a postgraduate student the fee you pay is not affected.
Tuition fees
The government regulated undergraduate home tuition fee rate for 2026-27 has not been confirmed:
- We expect the tuition fee be the same or slightly higher than the £9,535 for 2025-26.
- We expect the part-time undergraduate home tuition fee will be the same or slightly higher than the 2025-26 fee of £2,383.75 per 30 credit module per year,
There is a specific exception for four extended degrees, where the full-time home tuition fees for the first year only (foundation year) of these four programmes are also yet to be confirmed. However, we them to be the same or slightly higher than the £5,760 fee for 2025-26:
- BA Accounting and Finance (Extended)
- BA Business Management (Extended)
- LLB Law (Extended)
- BSc Criminology and Criminal Psychology (Extended)
If you apply and qualify for a tuition fee loan from your student finance provider (for most students that will be Student Finance England) this will continue to cover the full tuition fee amount.
Maintenance loans
The maximum student maintenance loans for the 2026/27 academic year are yet to be confirmed.
All students who apply and qualify for a maintenance loan from your student finance provider (for most students that will be Student Finance England) will automatically qualify for this uplift in support.
How much you will repay every month
This won't have any impact on the amount you repay each month after graduating.
This will be 9% of anything you earn over £25,000 a year if you’re from England, which is exactly the same as it is now, and doesn't change based on how much you owe.
(Note: that £25,000 figure is if you're from England. If you're from Scotland it's £31,395, from Wales it's £27,295 and if you're from Northern Ireland it's £24,990).
