HE Experience Days For schools and colleges

Students learn about higher education, how to apply and take part in a practical session to support their application process

Our HE Days are held on one of our three university campuses and are aimed at guiding year 12 and 13 students and FE Year 1 and 2 students through the application process to higher education.

Visits include two HE Workshops:

HE Workshop: How to Apply & Personal Statements

This practical workshop will guide students through the UCAS process and give tips on how to write an effective personal statement.

Student Life & Campus Tour

Discover how students gain new skills, meet new people and prepare for their futures at university by exploring our historic campus with our Student Ambassadors as guides.

"Thank you for an engaging and informative day. The feedback from the students was all positive, they particularly enjoyed the talk which they said gave them a better insight into the benefits of studying at university and the various career prospects"

Careers Strategy

The Government's Careers Strategy uses the Gatsby Benchmarks to set out a range of requirements that schools and colleges must meet. We have matched all of our activities to these, and this activity can support you with meeting benchmarks 1, 2 and 7.
