Who we are

University of Greenwich International College (UGIC) is an embedded college located near the main campus at University of Greenwich, offering an exciting range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for international students. UGIC is run by Oxford International Education Group, an educational organisation with an international reputation.

What you can study

Undergraduate Study Options

UGIC provides a foundation year in a wide range of academic subjects, which once successfully completed lead onto the chosen undergraduate degree with University of Greenwich.

International Year Zero (IYZ)

This programme is the first year of a four year undergraduate course. The first year takes place within UGIC, then, after successful completion of this, you will continue your degree directly with the university.

International Year One (IY1)

The IY1 is the first year of a three-year undergraduate course, taught at the college, and is equivalent to your first year of study at undergraduate level.

Postgraduate Study Options

International Incorporated Master's (IIM)

The International Incorporated Master's (IIM) programme focuses on equipping you with the business-related subject knowledge and the advanced study and English language skills you need to complete your postgraduate study at University of Greenwich. This programme is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to the Master's programmes at University of Greenwich.

The IIM provides you with the advanced academic and English language skills you need to continue to postgraduate Master’s study. Our course provides either one term (10 weeks) or two terms (20 weeks) of preparation for entry into a range of one-year Master’s degree at The University of Greenwich.

Subject routes available are:

Pre-Sessional English (PSE)

Pre-Sessional English is a 6 or 12-week extension course for those who may not yet meet the required English language standards for direct entry to our pathways. See below table for information on our English language requirements and what pre-sessional course is required:

  • 6 Week Pre-Sessional English for students at IELTS 5.0 (with no skill below 4.5)
  • 12 Week Pre-Sessional English for students at IELTS 4.5 (with no skill below 4.0)

International Year Zero

Five GCSE's at Grades A* - C
+ IELTS 5.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each component)

International First Year

80 UCAS points
+ IELTS 5.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each component)

International Pre-Masters

2 Term - Qualifying degree
1 Term Qualifying degree (minimum 3rd class honors)

Pre-sessional English courses are available if you do not meet the IELTs requirements

On-campus accommodation for UGIC students is limited, so it is essential that you contact your local representative for more information at the time of application.
