Dr Ahmed Elamin joined the University of Greenwich in 2019 and currently is the Programme Leader for BEng/MEng Civil Engineering programmes and serves as a member of Faculty of Engineering and Science Board.

Prior to University of Greenwich, Dr Elamin worked at Sudan University of Science and Technology as Teaching Assistant, and the University of Nottingham, China Campus as Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering. He also worked in Oil and Gas industry, for White Nile Petroleum Operating Company, as field-based Construction Engineer.

Dr Elamin holds First Class BEng (Hons) from Sudan University of Science and Technology, MSc Civil Engineering: Structural Engineering with Distinction and PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK which was funded by the prestigious Dean of Engineering Research Scholarship for International Excellence. He also completed a Postgraduate Certificate for Higher Education (PGCHE) at University of Nottingham.

Dr Elamin main research interest lies in structural engineering focusing on Steel Connections, Concrete-filled Hollow Sections, Numerical Modelling and Structural Analysis and Design using computers. Dr Elamin also enjoys Teaching and Learning pedagogy research.

During his career Dr Elamin received multiple awards including ‘Top Students Evaluation of Teaching’ award.
