Dr Kang Tong
Lecturer in Digital Engineering (Infrastructure and Built Environment)
Dr Kang Tong is a Lecturer in Digital Engineering for Infrastructure and the Built Environment at the University of Greenwich. He holds a PhD from the Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment at University College London, and an MSc and BSc in Construction Project Management and Quantity Surveying from Heriot-Watt University.
Dr Tong’s research focuses on digital transformation, modern methods of construction (MMC), systems engineering, facilities and real estate management, healthcare infrastructure, and innovation within the built environment. His academic work is complemented by over eight years of international industry experience, having served as engineering manager, contract manager, and quantity surveyor across a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and educational developments. He has led research and development initiatives in digitalisation and MMC programme implementation, and secured a major £150m HDB project in Singapore.
As an educator, Dr Tong is dedicated to pedagogical innovation, developing effective teaching methodologies that enhance student engagement and learning experiences, and contributing to the development of future professionals and leaders.
