Biomedical Science (Online), MSc/PGDip/PGCert
This online Biomed course allows health sector workers to study the latest developments in biomedical science and healthcare management while boosting their own professional development.
Our Biomedical Science course is aimed at health sector employees who want to keep up-to-date with latest developments in biomedical science, healthcare management and related subjects. The course is managed by a consortium of NHS Trusts, Pathology Joint Ventures, Public Health England and the University of Greenwich. The modules are approved for continuing professional development (CPD) by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), the leading body for current practitioners in the field.
There are currently 17 modules available to study online with full support from an experienced practitioner. Each one has been specifically tailored to meet workplace needs. Together they provide a flexible, practical way to learn, either for CPD or towards a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert), Diploma (PGDip) or full master's degree (MSc).

How you will learn
This section helps you understand more about how you’ll learn based on standard delivery of teaching and learning on campus.
However, as a response to COVID-19 we are currently operating a ‘blended model’ of teaching and learning. This means a combination of face-to-face sessions on our campuses with online lectures. There is additional support for any students who are unable to attend campus because they are ill or shielding. We’ll continue to offer blended learning to all our students, in line with government guidelines, for as long as we are advised to. If government or local authority rules require it, we may be limited to offering online-only learning but will return to blended learning as soon as we are safely able to do so.
You can find out more about how we are supporting our students.
Learning experience
Structured learning and teaching activities encourage interaction and engagement between students and tutors using online communication tools.
The 60-credit research project (MSc only) is designed to be relevant to your profession and of benefit to your workplace. You'll be supported by a member from your workplace and a member of the university.
