Learning from those around you
Maddy - BA (Hons) International Business with Language
For Maddy, real insight didn't just come from her placement year at Disney* - it came from the classroom too.
"Our professors brought so many different industry experiences into the room. It wasn't just theories. They'd share stories from their own careers, which made everything feel way more relevant."
Studying alongside students from around the world also shaped her experience. "You learn how to communicate better, how to understand different ways of thinking - and that's a big part of international business."
A community that's got your back
Yash - BA (Hons) Business Management
For Yash, the impact came from the people around him. "You end up building a proper network. These aren't just classmates - they become the people you lean on, learn from, and sometimes even work with outside of uni."
That peer support matters - and it's backed by the Faculty Student Advisor Team, who are there from day one to help students move forward with confidence and navigate any academic or personal challenges along the way.
Building skills, not just in the classroom
Kanav - BSc (Hons) Finance and Investment Banking
Kanav has embraced university life both academically and beyond. "University is what you make of it. If you engage with opportunities and step outside your comfort zone, it becomes a place where you grow academically, socially and personally - not just a cycle of lectures and deadlines."
That mindset has seen him serve as a Course Rep, sit on two society committees and even set up his own student society.
The tools to think bigger
Tegan - BA (Hons) Business Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Tegan, a prize-winner in the University's 2026 Enterprise Challenge, credits Greenwich with helping her "understand the logic, theory and strategic thinking behind successful ventures." She arrived with practical experience of running a business already - but Greenwich gave her something more: "the tools to think bigger."

Making the most of opportunities
For Daleni, growth comes from getting involved - inside and outside the lecture hall. "My advice is to always participate in lectures and tutorials. Don't just sit back and listen. Get involved, ask questions, and challenge yourself."
And when it comes to life beyond the classroom: "Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, whether it's joining a society, making new friends, or taking on a role like Student Ambassador."
It works out
Brennan - BA (Hons) Business with Marketing
For Brennan, moving from the US to study in London was about embracing opportunity - a decision that led to a placement year* at Amazon, working on major campaigns including Prime Day and Black Friday.
Looking back, she says: "I made incredible friends, and I found my feet in a whole new city." Her advice to anyone still on the fence? "Stop worrying. It works out."
