The University will be closed from 5pm on 23 December 2022 reopening on Tuesday, 3 January 2023. Greenwich Students’ Union will be closed from 21 December 2022, also reopening on Tuesday, 3 January 2023. Below we share information on what services and buildings you can still access during this time.
Events and support
Greenwich Students’ Union are hosting several activities over the festive break. This includes Christmas day with Global Greenwich - Global Greenwich will be providing activity on Christmas day for international students and home students staying around campus over winter. The events will take place in both The Dome (Avery Hill Campus) and The Hub (Medway Campus).

If you are concerned about not being able to access Internet over the closure period, we are providing a very limited stock of dongles to support students with digital access. Please complete this form to request a dongle, subject to availability.
If you require Wellbeing support over the break, you can access our 24/7 online service Spectrum Life. You can also find a list of further support services here.
If you are living in University accommodation, you can contact your Resident Assistant for further support.
Building Opening Times
All buildings with the exception of the below will be closed from 5pm on the 23rd of December and reopen on 3rd January.
Buildings that are open during the closure period are:
Avery Hill Campus
- Gate House/ Aragon Sodexo offices open
- Dome and gym open from 24th December to 2nd January between 12pm - 8pm
Greenwich Campus
- Gate House open
- Sodexo office in Queen Anne building open
Medway Campus
- Gate House open
- Deep End open between 24th December to 2nd January between 12pm - 8pm
