Our Staff Networks and Communities provide a safe, supportive and confidential forum for sharing experiences, networking, amplifying voice and discussing identified issues.
They have developed substantially in the past 5 years and we now have a collection of thriving groups who play an integral part in helping to drive our ambitions for EDI across the institution and in turn, achieve our vision to become the best modern university by 2030.
Our Staff Networks and Communities are a place to:
- gain and share an understanding of the experiences of staff from diverse backgrounds, and highlight any inequalities that influence learning, teaching, or working life
- promote the interest of our diverse community employed at the university
- ensure the provision of diverse perspectives on all professional issues in recruitment, employment practices as well as training and development
- provide an opportunity for members to share information on local and national policy and developments
- celebrate the diversity of the workforce by participating in national and local events
- promote opportunities for social networking.
Members are given time by the university to attend community meetings and events with contributions to the work of the community recognised by the university where possible.
If you are interested in joining a staff network group, you can find information on our EDI web page. We currently have four staff networks and communities:
You can also find information on the Staff Wellbeing Network.
Our EDI Annual Reports gives an overview of the work our Staff Networks have completed over the past few year as written by our Staff Network and Community Chairs and Co-Chairs.
