We have lots of quotes* from our students, so we'll be sharing them in a series of posts - usually we'd share these on our digital screens across our campuses, however with many of us not currently on campus we didn't want that to stop us.
Students can nominate the staff and student representatives who have made a real impact on their university experience in this year's Student Led Teaching Awards.
Angeliki Bolou used a variety of teaching styles to accommodate the range of students in the class. After every lecture, she would research extra reading materials and email them to us to help our learning. If we needed more time to practice clinical skills, she would stay late to help us.
Dr Mariya Eranova is an outstanding tutor and very kind on a personal level. She encourages us to share our experiences, connecting theory and practice, which makes the subject really interesting.
Menna Jones is so helpful and a great supervisor. She is always there to help, answering my questions and giving advice. Because of her, writing my dissertation was an exciting journey without stress.
Ron Gibson has provided great inspiration and motivation. He has encouraged me as a business student to think outside the box and gain a practical understanding of companies on a global scale.
Shelton Giwa is a teacher who will be long remembered for his ability to inspire students and encouraging them to fulfil their potential.
Dr James Kennell has encouraged us to study and learn more outside of the university. His lectures provide a good combination of theory and practice.
Dr Gordon Ade-Ojo's approach empowers post graduate students to become independent thinkers and doers. He is supportive and offers constructive criticism to help you progress.
Scott Goudie is a superstar of an advisor. The time, effort and enthusiasm he has shown to us all has been second to none.
Dr Guoxiang Song is supportive of projects outside the classroom and talks to us about industry developments and career related topics. He has even helped me with applications by writing references.
Bonnie Kerr readily goes the extra mile to ensure students are supported. I truly appreciate her hard work and determination to help others succeed.
Atis Kellsey King has a way of involving students in the activities. Her teaching is super interesting - there isn't a dull moment in her class.
Prof Andrew King's classes are amazing and he always makes students feel like we have accomplished something. If you're struggling or don't understand something, he will help you straight away.
Dr Richard Wild's teaching is truly unique. He takes any subject and teaches it in a smart and captivating way. His lectures always inspire me to want to learn more!
Dr Jennifer Young is the type of teacher that makes you look forward to an early morning seminar. She is enthusiastic about the subject and encourages students to engage in debate. It's improved my ability to convey ideas and arguments whilst being open to alternatives.
On behalf of our students, thank you.
