Generator Team

Rachel Brown
Head of Enterprise and Innovation

Rachel has been working in enterprise education since 2013, when she set up a social enterprise programme in a secondary school in Tower Hamlets as part of a community regeneration scheme. She left that position to set up the enterprise programme at Queen Mary University of London, where she co-founded InQUBEate, Queen Mary University's first start-up incubator programme, which was shortlisted for a Wharton QS Stars award for innovation in higher education.

Prior to working in enterprise education Rachel developed her entrepreneurial skills by working in product development for Pearson, developing large scale international schemes for the Caribbean schools market. Her specialist areas of advice for start ups include market research, new product development and business plan writing.


Lynette Lisk
Generator Programmes Manager

Lynette is a project Manager who leads on the Generator’s #GreHacks Knowledge Exchange Project. Before working at the University of Greenwich she was a communications and publicity manager and freelance project manager.

She has a background in publishing and arts administration and is passionate about exploring how education and enterprise can be used as tools for empowerment and social justice. Lynette is a problem solver and interested in building strategic partnerships.


Carl Thomas
Enterprise Adviser

Carl is a serial entrepreneur, starting his first Internet business as a teenager prior to the dotcom bubble. Currently he runs an award winning fittech startup called Audiowings. Whilst also holds regular summits for technology leaders in the Wearable Technology industry across London and Europe.

Carl is also a regular business advisor for many different companies such as MSDUK, Techstars and Virgin Startups. He’s also worked with London South Bank University, helping develop their entrepreneurship programme, helping 350 students launch their business. And helping their students and graduates raise over £1 million in finance and cumulatively generate revenues of over £5M.


Mia Abouri
Enterprise Centre Manager

Mia is the Enterprise Centre Manager for the Generator University of Greenwich. She has been working at the University since June 2010. Mia has over ten years of experience in enterprise and currently leads on start-up boot camps, competitions, and mentorship.

Mia currently teaches in marketing and design thinking topics in and outside the curriculum and is training in coaching. Prior to student enterprise, Mia worked in events management, project management and developing content for online learning. Mia has an Executive MBA, PGCert Higher Education and BA Hons in events Management.


Joao Corona
Communications Officer

Joao has a background in video production and marketing within the Higher Education Sector. Having graduated from the University of Greenwich with a First Class in Digital Film Production, Joao has received many awards from companies such as Zeiss and the Royal Television Society for his graduate film.

Prior to joining the Generator team, Joao ran freelancing jobs as a videographer and had a variety of roles within the University of Greenwich, including being a Departmental Programme Co-ordinator and Marketing Officer, where he assisted the Generator team creating videos for the Enterprise Challenge competitions, as well as doing photography at events.


Joe Blomfield
Enterprise Officer

Joe is the Enterprise Officer at the Generator and coordinates our Start Up Visa programme and Power Talks series. After joining the Generator on his placement year in 2020, Joe has progressed in the team, specialising in events management and logistics. Joe has a particular interest in social enterprises and is currently a University Advisor for ENACTUS Greenwich.

Joe studied at the University of Greenwich and graduated in 2022 with a first-class degree in Events Management, winning the Department of Marketing, Events and Tourism award for best undergraduate dissertation.


Tereza Jelinkova
Co-working Community and Events Assistant - Placement Student

Tereza joined the Generator as a placement student, as part of her degree in Languages and International Relations. Within her role of Co-working Community and Events Assistant, she is responsible for looking after the co-work space, networking activities, and supports students in their entrepreneurial engagement. Additionally, she works closely with the team on various events and contributes to Generator’s marketing and communication presence.

Before joining the Generator team, Tereza worked as a Library and IT Assistant in the university’s library, and also as an animator in a beach resort in Greece.
