Lecturer in Public Health

Shaiyini Ravindran has transitioned to a lecturer role from a graduate teaching assistant in Public Health. Shaiyini studied BSc Public Health at University of Greenwich and was employed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant following completion of study in 2022. Shaiyini then embarked on MSc Public Health at York St John University in 2025. Whilst working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant she was awarded the Associate Fellowship in Higher Education (AFHEA). Her research interests are health inequalities in chronic illnesses in ethnic minorities, particularly health inequalities in the management of Type 2 Diabetes among ethnic minorities

Women and ethnic minority inequalities. postnatal depression in south Asian groups, chronic illnesses: Diabetes and CVD.
