Supporting Collaboration
Last summer our Student Email Project moved student email to the cloud, giving us a common platform for collaboration and opening up new functionality for students, such as adding a profile picture to Microsoft 365, seeing your Calendar in Teams, and creating Teams meetings using Outlook. And you can store up to 1TB of data in your OneDrive, which you can securely share with any staff or student at the university.
To help you stay up to date with the new features Microsoft and our teams are adding, we regularly share updates on what’s new and next in Teams as well as how to get training and support for Microsoft 365.
We have doubled the capacity of Moodle and proactively increase capacity during assessment and exam periods to ensure a quality service. To help you easily switch between Moodle and Teams, we introduced collaborative learning with Microsoft Teams and Moodle. By integrating the two we made it easier for you to access your learning and teaching content.
You can now listen to your Moodle documents as a podcast, read them as an e-book or download as a PDF to use with assistive technology. You can also request improved captioning for a recording if a section of the transcript is incorrect or a section is missing, find out more about the resources we’ve introduced to help you access accessible content.
Connection on our campuses
We have added 26 new Hyflex spaces to our campuses, Avery Hill (9), Medway (8), and Greenwich (17). These include a purpose-built Moot Room for Law students, two Hyflex IT teaching labs and two Research Labs with AV.
Throughout the year we have updated information on the study spaces and PCs available for you to use on campus, keeping you updated as we increase the PCs available for you to use. We have doubled the number of loan laptops available in Avery Hill and Drill Hall Libraries and added over 30 to Stockwell Street Library.
Our Mobile App keeps you connected to university information wherever you are. From checking your timetable or library account, to keeping up with student news and the inter-campus bus timetable, the app brings together everything you need to know in one place. If there is something you’d like to see on the App, you can help us improve it by sending App Feedback to our development team.
