Trains

National Rail

The train operator Southeastern provides services into Woolwich, for timetable information refer to National Rail Enquiries. From Central London there are direct trains from London Charing Cross (via Lewisham) and Cannon Street (via Greenwich). From Kent there are services operating from Gillingham via Gravesend along with more local destinations. Alight at Woolwich Arsenal station (Zone 4) which is 5 minutes walk from Bathway.  For directions use Google Maps.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR)

Woolwich Arsenal DLR station is located adjacent to the National Rail station. Trains run from Bank and Stratford International with a connection to the Tube (Jubilee Line) five stops away at Canning Town.

River services

The Thames Clippers boat service operates at peak periods from Embankment to Woolwich Arsenal Pier, about 20 minutes walk to Bathway. The service stops at various locations on route and takes 50 minutes from Embankment.

Cycling and walking to Bathway

Cycling

If you plan to cycle to the campus TfL provides information on the best cycle routes. The ride from Greenwich Campus and Avery Hill Campus both take around 25 minutes. You can park your bicycle at the side of the building in Polytechnic Street. We recommend you use a good quality bike lock. Bicycles are left at your own risk.

Walking

The Woolwich Foot Tunnel, underneath the Thames, links North Woolwich (north of the river) to Woolwich. The tunnel entrance is a 20 minute walk from Bathway.

From the M25 South:

Exit at J2 for A2 towards London and Blackwall Tunnel. Exit the A2 via slip road onto the A205 sign-posted Woolwich. Follow signs for parking in Woolwich town centre. The closest car park to Bathway is the multi-storey car park in Calderwood Street, signposted from the A205.

From M25 North:

Exit at J27 for M11 towards London follow signs for A12 Blackwall Tunnel. After tunnel, exit the A102 onto the A206 and follow directions for Woolwich. In approximately 2 miles take the third exit sign-posted A205 South Circular Lewisham and follow signs for parking in Woolwich town centre.

Car parking

There is no parking provided at the building but parking on-street may be purchased at £1.50 per hour from a parking meter. There are Blue Badge bays provided in Bathway and close-by in Market Street. The closest public car park is in Calderwood Street or you could park at Tesco off Grand Depot Street for up to 3 hours. Greenwich Council provides more information on parking in Woolwich.

Motorbikes and Scooters

If you have a motorbike or scooter you can park it at the side of the building in Polytechnic Street.
