Greenwich experience: hear it from our postgraduate students

What's it really like to study a postgraduate degree at Greenwich Business School? Six postgraduate students share how their time at GBS shaped their thinking, their careers and their confidence - in their own words.

Here at Greenwich Business School, our students bring different experiences, ambitions and career goals.

Every student's journey is unique, but many tell us that their time here helped them grow in ways they didn't expect.

Who better to tell you a little more about their Greenwich experience than some of our taught Master's students themselves.

Seeing the world differently

Mariam - MA International Business

"This course has changed my mindset completely!" says Mariam.

But it wasn't just her course which had an impact. Getting involved with the 'Generator' (more on this below!) gave her the chance to collaborate with people from different cultures and backgrounds - an experience that really reshaped her perspective on international business.

This experience saw her collaborate with a diverse team, helping her to appreciate how different viewpoints influence teamwork and problem-solving. Crucially, it broadened her understanding of what it means to work in an international environment and changed the way she views global business interactions.

More than a place to study

Tristan - MSc Digital Marketing

For Tristan, who moved from Tennessee to London, choosing Greenwich meant more than choosing the right course. It meant the opportunity to live in one of the world's most exciting cities: London - a leading centre for business, finance, creativity and more.

"Living in London, being near so many opportunities, that was a huge factor for me."

For many Business School students, living in a global city such as London becomes a memorable part of their postgraduate journey and one of the reasons their time at Greenwich can feel so special.

Thinking bigger

Ebenezer - MSc Business Analytics

For Ebenezer, postgraduate study became an opportunity to combine his interests, grow his knowledge and get a chance to pursue ambitious projects.

The Business School "doesn't just teach theory; it encourages students to solve actual problems" he says. He also found an environment where ambitious ideas could flourish. This - combined with his interests in cutting-edge technology, environmental sustainability and practical problem-solving - saw him produce a dissertation with the potential to genuinely impact the University community.

People who want you to succeed

Parnian - MSc Accounting and Finance

Parnian wanted more than just a degree with strong academic foundations - she wanted an environment where she could truly grow.

What she found in the Business School was a supportive environment, with tutors and lecturers readily available to help guide her - from coursework and dissertation to future career plans.

Looking back on her experience, she says: "If you're looking for a university that helps and supports you with your professional and future goals, choose Greenwich."

The right support can make all the difference when it comes to achieving your ambitions.

Creating your own path

Kritika - MA International Business

Kritika was determined to make the most of every opportunity available to her. Alongside her studies, she attended employability events, became a Programme Rep and even developed her own start-up idea through the University's Generator programme.

As Kritika puts it: "You don't just find your path; you create it." For her, postgraduate study became an opportunity to turn ideas into action.

Her experience shows that postgraduate study can be about much more than earning a qualification - it can be about shaping a journey that's uniquely your own.

Finding your voice

Divya - MSc Digital Marketing

Moving to a new country was a big step for Divya, but Greenwich quickly felt like the right place to be: "It wasn't just the facilities or the location - though both are amazing - it was the sense of belonging. Coming from India, moving so far from home was daunting, but the diverse and inclusive community at Greenwich made all the difference."

In that environment, she found the confidence to challenge herself and think bigger about her future.

Looking back, she says: "It's not only about earning a degree. It's about discovering who I am, finding what drives me, and having the support to grow along the way."

For many international students, the postgraduate journey is about personal growth as well as academic success.
