The new Academic Workload Planning tool was launched over the summer and is now live. Once your workload is published to you by your line manager, you’ll be able to view it by logging in to your account here.
A variety of communications have been sent out, with links to guidance documents to help staff better understand the system, the tariffs and the associated processes and provide opportunities to submit feedback, sign up to training and awareness sessions along with dates for all staff drop-ins.
Here we share with you a roundup of communications relating to the new AWP tool which will enable us to plan effectively, efficiently and fairly as we work towards the goals as set out in This is our Time 2030 University Strategy.

Workload Allocations
We have extended the allocation window into the start of the academic year as we recognise that some colleagues will have had limited opportunity to engage over the summer break. Therefore, you will not see your provisional workload allocation until it has been entered into the system by your line manager. You should receive an automated email notification once it is published for you to review. This will be available for you to access via the following link.
Workload Pledge
We are committed to ensuring that over this transition year no-one will be worse-off in terms of their workload as a result of these changes. If your workload is significantly affected, the AWP team will work with you and your line manager to find a solution.
Staff portal
An AWP space on the staff portal has been created as a single reference point for all information relating to AWP which includes guidance documents, FAQs plus dates for upcoming training and events.
