Travel from overseas

Travelling by air

Our campuses are well located for international airports. In most cases head for Central London and take the Tube, DLR or National Rail from there. Use our campus 'Getting to' pages for travel information from Central London.

London Heathrow

You can catch the Tube from Heathrow to Central London or take the Heathrow Express to London Paddington Station. Tickets for the Heathrow Express are more expensive but trains leave every 15 minutes and the journey only takes 15 minutes.

London Gatwick

Gatwick Express trains run every 15 minutes and take 30 minutes to London Victoria.

London Stansted

Stansted Express trains run every 15 minutes to London Liverpool Street station and take 45 minutes.

London Luton

Trains run up to every 10 minutes from Luton Airport Parkway via Thameslink into London Blackfriars station.

London City Airport

This is located close to the Greenwich Campus. The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) operates from this airport to Greenwich.

National Express and Green Line run coach services to and from a number of these airports.

Travelling by ferry

The following companies offer channel ferry services to Dover:

To get from Dover to Greenwich or Avery Hill Campus. First take a train to London Bridge, London Charing Cross or London Victoria station, then use local rail or bus services. If travelling to Medway there are trains direct to Chatham station from Dover, Folkestone or Ramsgate.

Travelling through the Channel Tunnel

Eurostar trains take passengers by high-speed rail through the tunnel direct to London St. Pancras station via Stratford station. Stratford Station has links via the DLR to Greenwich. If travelling by car Greenwich is around 65 miles from Folkestone and Medway around 40 miles, in both cases using the M20.
