This website is an assessment platform for certification exams run by the University of Greenwich.  It maintains a high level of accessibility in screen reader compatibility and colour vision deficiency support.

We provide a text relay service for people who are D/deaf, hearing impaired or have a speech impediment.

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some non-text content does not have text alternatives, such as the Help and Download buttons on the log-in page and the Notification button on the dashboard page. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content. Users who are taking the certification exams can bypass the log-in page with the direct link offered in their module site on Moodle. Since this is an on-site and supervised assessment, invigilators can provide support to the users who have difficulties in accessing the notification page. A request for improvement has been sent to the developer of GMetrix.
  • Some text and text buttons do not have a sufficient contrast ratio. This includes the text on the Technical Support page, the Profile and Help buttons on the Dashboard, the Cancel and Start Test buttons on the Test Launcher, and the Start button on the test selection page. This fails WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). Since users will only access the platform on-site with the laptops provided by the School, the invigilators can provide support to the users who have difficulties in accessing the related functions and initiating the exam. A request for improvement has been sent to the developer of GMetrix.
  • Keyboard focus is not provided for the navigation bar on the left of all pages and the four functional buttons on the middle of the Dashboard page. This fails WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible. Users who are taking the certification exams can bypass these screens as they enter the assessment directly with the link offered in their module site on Moodle. A request for improvement has been sent to the developer of GMetrix.
  • The Gmetrix log-in page does not have a language attribute. This fails WCAG Language of Page. Users who are taking the certification exams can bypass the log-in screen as they enter the assessment directly with link offered in their module site on Moodle. A request for improvement has been sent to the developer of GMetrix.
  • GMetrix requests for password on the log in page, which is the only sign in method. This fails WCAG 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication (Minimum). Users who are taking the certification exams can bypass the log-in screen as they enter the assessment directly with the link offered in their module site on Moodle. A request for improvement has been sent to the developer of GMetrix.
  • The content of each assessment has a predefined time limit. Users are not able to make adjustments. This fails WCAG 2.2.1 Timing Adjustable. Prior to the assessment, users may report to their Module Leader for special needs. The time limit can be doubled for individual user on GMetrix.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 13th December 2024. It was last reviewed on 13th December 2024.

This website was last tested in December 2024. The test was carried out internally by the GBS Learning Technologies Team within the University of Greenwich. The testing included manual testing and testing with the Lighthouse plug-in of Microsoft Edge. Specific tests include keyboard test, colour blindness test, zoom test, text spacing test, colour contrast test, and screen reader test. Testing was completed against WCAG 2.2.
