Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some decorative images do not have text alternatives, such as the thumbnail of textbooks on the landing page and the decorative icons next to the text buttons on the Chapter Resources page. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content. The thumbnails and icons are decorative. For the icons, the text links next to them are self-explanatory, which maintain clear navigation to different resources in a book chapter.
  • Pearson MyLab requests for password on the log in page, which is the only sign in method. This fails WCAG 3.3.8 Accessible Authentication (Minimum). Users who access the self-learning materials can bypass the log-in screen as they enter the platform directly with the links provided in their module sites on Moodle.

If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Feedback and contact information’ section of this statement.

Disproportionate burden

At this time, we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

At this time, we have not identified any content that is not within scope of the accessibility regulations.
