Ahead of your arrival with us, here are some 'to-do' things and things to know!
1. Registration
Yes, this one's pretty key and a definite number one on the 'to do' list. All undergrad and taught master's students should aim to complete online registration before the first day of their course and classes begin. As soon as you get your username and password from us, get started today! If you're not sure where to begin with this - how to register
2. Collect your student ID Card
Once you've completed ALL parts of registration, you'll be able to collect your shiny new student card! However, you will need to book one of our timed slots to collect this - book your slot here.
3. The 'Big Welcome'
Setting you up for success is the University's 'Big Welcome' (which continues into Term 1, alongside your course). Designed to help you get started on your university journey, there's a programme of activities and workshops designed to support you during your first weeks at the university and really set you up for success. You can find out more on the Welcome webpages or check the Student Portal.
4. DiscoverGRE
A definite 'must do', this online pre-arrival programme is a unique opportunity to help you explore the University, start to make connections with other new students and discover our facilities and services before you even start with us! The programme runs online from 8 to 11 September and you can find out more - and sign up - here.
5. International Student Welcome Programme
If you're an international student, the University’s fully online International Student Welcome Programme is designed specifically for you and is recommended in addition to DiscoverGre (see above). This Welcome Programme will help you prepare for student life in the UK and is accessible via our Moodle platform, so you can access it from anywhere in the world, at a time which suits you.
6. Get IT ready
Make sure you're ready to hit the ground running IT-wise. Learn how to connect to campus Wi-Fi, and access all the IT and Library support you’ll need on - and off - campus. Find out more on the University's webpages.
7. Feeling social?
In the run-up to the start of term - and beyond - keep an eye on Greenwich Business School's Instagram page. You'll find tips, info and more and maybe even more! (Don't worry if social media's not your thing - we'll make sure you hear from us in other ways.)
8. Digital Student Centre
The University's one-stop shop for student enquiries and enhanced personalised support. Find the help you need when you need it. The Digital Student Centre will help you find answers to common questions, raise enquiries or request documents like Student Status Letters. Find out more here.
9. Mental health and wellbeing
Your well-being matters at Greenwich. If you’d like to speak with someone, join a drop-in session, or get guidance on counselling, disability or dyslexia support, our Student Wellbeing Services are ready to help.
You can explore resources through the Student Wellbeing Hub, and if you’d like to access support directly, you can make a self-referral via the Digital Student Centre.
10. Explore student life
Find your way around campus maps and travel guides, and make use of the shuttle bus between campuses. Get involved with the Greenwich Students’ Union, they’ll have welcome events, societies, sports clubs, and volunteering opportunities to help make Greenwich feel like home.
Remember, there's lots of information on the University's welcome webpages and lots of ways to ask us questions and get help if you're not sure about anything.
All that remains to say is see you soon!
