What is PRME?

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a United Nations-supported initiative founded in 2007 that aims to raise the profile of sustainability and responsibility in business and management education through seven principles, guiding the way we serve society and the planet. The University of Greenwich has renewed its membership to a global community committed to solving the grand challenges of our time.

Who is PRME for?

  • Students: Future Business leaders seeking to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to balance economic, environmental, and social goals and navigate the complexities of some of the world’s most pressing challenges. PRME at Greenwich equips you with the understanding to deliver positive change in tomorrow’s organisations.
  • Faculty and Researchers: Academic and non-academic professionals looking to integrate responsible management principles into teaching, research, and curriculum development. PRME at Greenwich is committed to building a community of practice across faculties and our three campuses to cross-fertilise best practice between disciplines, ensuring our students benefit from research-led and interdisciplinary insights.
  • Business Professionals: Industry leaders and managers seeking partnerships with academia to advance responsible business practices, carve innovative pathways to sustainable development, and contribute to the development of future responsible leaders
  • Community Organisations: NGOs, Government Agencies, Community Groups, and Third Sector leaders interested in collaborating on sustainability initiatives and contributing to responsible management education

  • Research Excellence: our faculty conducts cutting-edge research on sustainable business practices, social responsibility, and environmental management, contributing to a global knowledge base through publications, policy papers, and partnerships.
  • Industry Partnerships: We collaborate with businesses, NGOs, and Government organisations to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application of responsible management practices.
  • Global Network: As part of the wider PRME community, we engage with institutions worldwide to share best practices, participate in joint initiatives, and contribute to global sustainable development goals.
  • Innovation Labs: We host a variety of workshops, seminars, and innovation challenges that bring together students, faculty, and industry professionals to develop solutions for sustainability challenges.
