About us

Our Centre brings together researchers and practitioners united by one common interest, healthcare and education workers, workforces, systems, and the programmes within them. Our goal is to focus on questions and issues related to the healthcare and education workforce. Within healthcare and education, much research is focused on patients and those being educated. However, we believe that the systems that people are cared for and educated in, the programmes developed, and the people working in them need just as much attention to ensure patients and students get the healthcare and education they deserve, and that workers are motivated and satisfied in their roles. We therefore focus on issues related to the below themes.

ILD | Institute for Lifecourse Development

The ILD is a key anchor resource hosted by the Faculty of Education, Health & Human Sciences. Professionals from related fields will work closely together with researchers and stakeholders from public, charitable and voluntary organisations. Together they will develop effective and economically sustainable lifecourse solutions and tackle the grand challenge agendas society faces.
