Financial Support
1) The Turing Scheme
The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. You do not need to apply separately for the Turing Scheme. Turing Scheme fundings are not subject to application but will be available to all the students going on a summer school and calculated according to the specific programme.
If you qualify as Widening Participation (WP) student, you are eligible to higher cost of living rates and an additional travel grant.
If you meet one of the criteria below, you qualify as WP student. Please note that evidence will be required.
Widening Participants (WP) criteria
- Student with an annual household income below £35,000
- Students receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits because they are financially supporting themselves and someone who is dependent and living with them
- BAME student
- Care leaver or care-experienced student
- Student with caring responsibilities
- Estranged students
- Refugees and asylum seeker
- Disabled students
2) The Global Greenwich Bursary
You need to apply and be eligible for the Global Greenwich Bursary. Students must fill out an additional Global Greenwich Bursary application form to be eligible for it.
Undergraduate home students meeting at least one of the criteria below are eligible to apply for the bursary:
- Student with an annual household income below £35,000
- Students receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits because they are financially supporting themselves and someone who is dependent and living with them
- BAME student
- Care leaver or care-experienced student
- Student with caring responsibilities

- Refugees and asylum seeker

New York Film Academy – 4-Week Filmmaking Workshop (USA Campus)
Duration: 4 weeks
Location: New York City or Los Angeles
Dates: July 6 – August 1, 2026
August 3 – August 29, 2026
Ideal for: Beginners or aspiring filmmakers looking to build a strong foundation in cinematic storytelling
Cost: Tuition: $3,899 Equipment & Technology Fee: $599
This intensive, hands-on programme introduces students to the core elements of filmmaking. Over four weeks, participants gain practical experience across all stages of film production.
Programme Highlights:
- Write, direct, shoot, and edit three short films
- Rotate through key crew roles including Director of Photography, Assistant Camera, and Gaffer
- Receive training in digital cameras, lighting, and editing software
- Participate in weekly screenings and critiques
- Conclude with a final showcase for friends and family
This workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to filmmaking, offering students the skills and confidence to pursue further creative projects or studies.
Requirements to attend programme:
Students must be enrolled onto a Film studies programme at University of Greenwich to participate in this programme.

Traineeship with the Caribbean Elective
Location: Saint Lucia
Cohorts: June, July, August 2026 depending on availability
Duration: 2 to 4 weeks depending on the programme

- Students that meet WP criteria will receive: £588 towards cost of living + £705 travel grant TBC
- All other students (non-WP):: £476 towards cost of living TBC
2. Global Greenwich Bursary: subject to application
