Financial Support

1) The Turing Scheme

The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. You do not need to apply separately for the Turing Scheme. Turing Scheme fundings are not subject to application but will be available to all the students going on a summer school and calculated according to the specific programme.

If you qualify as Widening Participation (WP) student, you are eligible to higher cost of living rates and an additional travel grant.

If you meet one of the criteria below, you qualify as WP student. Please note that evidence will be required.

• Students receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits because they are financially supporting themselves and someone who is dependent and living with them

2) The Global Greenwich Bursary

You need to apply and be eligible for the Global Greenwich Bursary. Students must fill out an additional Global Greenwich Bursary application form to be eligible for it.

Undergraduate home students meeting at least one of the criteria below are eligible to apply for the bursary:

• Student with an annual household income below £35,000
• Students receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits because they are financially supporting themselves and someone who is dependent and living with them
• BAME student
• Care leaver or care-experienced student
• Student with caring responsibilities
• Estranged students

International Summer School at Dongguk University (Seoul, South Korea)

International Summer School at Dongguk University (Seoul, South Korea)

Korean and International students will be able to earn credits during the summer vacation learning about Korean Media, Culture, Business, Humanities and Social Sciences which are the study fields that Dongguk University is renowned for. Also, this program will be enriched with a special study tour to learn historical & social backgrounds of Korea beyond the boundary of the classroom.

Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) - Summer school

The International Summer Session (ISS) at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies has been offered annually from 2003 providing unique opportunities for all those who wish to deepen their understanding of Korean society and the sources of its current trends. ISS provides a diverse curriculum and its courses are taught by some of the most prominent scholars in the field of Korean and Asian studies.

Dates: 4 weeks in July (exact dates TBC)

Cost: approx. £1000

Accommodation can be booked at an additional fee of £350

Traineeship with Think Pacific: Fiji Village Immersion

This is community immersion at its very best. Traineeship with Think Pacific: Bali

Explore spectacular landscapes, experience Balinese culture and community life, and learn from local organisations addressing real social and environmental challenges. Along the way, you’ll work with your team on a Global Futures Action Project designed to develop your ideas, confidence and skills.

This is learning through experience: asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions and collaborating with people from different backgrounds. It’s not simply a holiday in Bali, it’s an opportunity to understand the island from a local perspective and return home with new friendships, meaningful experiences and greater confidence for your future.

Dates: 18 days, flexible start dates throughout June, July and August

Cost: £1895

Includes: Accommodation, most meals, excursions/activities + domestic travel.

Additional costs: International flights, tourist visa, travel insurance, vaccinations + spending money (for some lunches).

Vocational Impact Volunteering Programme: Psychology and Mental Health India

Vocational Impact Volunteering Programme: Psychology and Mental Health IndiaThe Psychology & Mental Health Programme in Jaipur offers students practical exposure to clinical psychology and mental health care across hospital and community settings. At the Hospital, trainees work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists and other healthcare professionals within the psychiatric and deaddiction units, gaining insight into assessment, diagnosis, patient care, counselling, rehabilitation and case management. They will explore a range of mental health conditions, while learning about approaches such as cognitive behavioural techniques, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention and family counselling.

The programme also includes work in the afternoons on the child development project, where trainees gain experience in child development and community mental health. Students can observe and support mentoring, group activities and mental health awareness workshops, while developing an understanding of early intervention and the emotional and behavioural needs of children.

Students must study Psychology or related Mental Health Programme

Dates: 28 May – 28 June

Cost: £1490 + £265 reg fee

FPT Vietnam summer school

A cultural and educational exchange programme across Vietnam featuring business visits, exploration workshops, volunteer work and interaction with local communities. The programme will run across multiple locations in Vietnam - Hanoi and Sa Pa, Can Tho, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City.

Dates: 23 May – 12 June

Cost:  £1310

The program fee covers:

Sri Lanka Community Development Programme with Travelteer

Volunteering and cultural immersion programme in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka.Participants can choose from a range of impactful volunteer programmes, including:

• Marine & Wildlife Conservation – Work on coral reef restoration, turtle conservation, and environmental education.
• English Development – Support local schools by teaching English and engaging in creative learning activities.
• Sports Development – Coach and mentor children through sports, promoting teamwork and confidence.
• Healthcare Placements – For medical and psychology students, offering observational placements in local hospitals.

Stay at the Travelteer House in Hikkaduwa, a vibrant surf town with beach bars, temples and daily turtle sightings.

Enjoy a balanced lifestyle with evening yoga, games nights and group socials.

Weekends are free for optional excursions like white-water rafting, whale watching and cooking classes.

Chinese Cultural immersion Summer School

Building on the very successful 2026 inaugural cohort, the 2027 "Heart of China" programme invites 25 University of Greenwich students to spend two weeks immersed in the birthplace of Chinese civilisation — Central China. Spend two weeks at Henan University of Education and Law, Zhengzhou, while participating in excursions to Dengfeng and Beijing.

Dates: 12 June -  25 June

Cost: approx. £1580

The programme fee covers tuition, on-campus accommodation, breakfast and lunch, all excursions, learning materials, and 24/7 on-site support. Students arrange their own international flights, visa, travel insurance, and personal expenses.

Experience an immersive summer learning journey across one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant business hubs—Singapore.

The LSBF Asia Summer School combines academic learning, cultural immersion, and real-world exposure to provide students with valuable insights into Asian business practices, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Teach English in Vietnam with Gotoco and TEFL

Spend your summer in Vietnam with Gotoco! Explore Vietnamese culture and partake in a 4-week English teaching adventure. Start in the vibrant historic capital, Hanoi, and end on the beach in Da Nang, teaching off-the-tourist-trail in between.

Live and teach in Vietnam. After an orientation in Hanoi, you’ll head to your placement school with your group to immerse yourself in the local community, teach your own classes, and watch your confidence grow with each lesson.
