Financial Support
1) The Turing Scheme
The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. You do not need to apply separately for the Turing Scheme. Turing Scheme fundings are not subject to application but will be available to all the students going on a summer school and calculated according to the specific programme.
If you qualify as Widening Participation (WP) student, you are eligible to higher cost of living rates and an additional travel grant.
If you meet one of the criteria below, you qualify as WP student. Please note that evidence will be required.
Widening Participants (WP) criteria
- Student with an annual household income below £35,000
- Students receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits because they are financially supporting themselves and someone who is dependent and living with them
- BAME student
- Care leaver or care-experienced student
- Student with caring responsibilities
- Estranged students
- Refugees and asylum seeker
- Disabled students
2) The Global Greenwich Bursary
You need to apply and be eligible for the Global Greenwich Bursary. Students must fill out an additional Global Greenwich Bursary application form to be eligible for it.
Undergraduate home students meeting at least one of the criteria below are eligible to apply for the bursary:
- Student with an annual household income below £35,000
- Students receiving Universal Credit or income-related benefits because they are financially supporting themselves and someone who is dependent and living with them
- BAME student
- Care leaver or care-experienced student
- Student with caring responsibilities
- Estranged students
- Refugees and asylum seeker
- Disabled students
Management and Leadership at Audencia Business School (Nantes, France)
Apply to spend 4-weeks in Nantes, France studying at our partner Audencia Business School. You will develop global management skills while experiencing a French lifestyle with students from all around the world.
Dates: 1st Cohort: 17 May – 12 June
2nd Cohort: 14 June – 10 July
Cost: 150 EURO (approx £130)
Included: all lessons and modules
Not included: Accommodation, meals and other spending money
Funding:
1. Turing Funds: Eligible to all the confirmed participants
Students that meet WP criteria will receive:
£567 towards living cost + up to £250 travel grant based on flight receipts
All other students (non-WP): £459
2. Global Greenwich Bursary: subject to application
Successful Home Undergraduate students that meet WP criteria will receive: £500

International Business, Relations and French at IDRAC Business School (Lyon, France)
Spend 4-weeks studying in Lyon at our partner IDRAC Business School to learn about French culture and language while enhancing your communication and management skills.
Dates: Session 1: 18 May – 11 June
Session 2: 15 June – 9 July
Cost: TBC
Included: Accommodation, breakfast, 3 dinners a week
Not Included: other meals, public transport, weekend trips, flights, visa costs
Funding:
1. Turing Funds: Eligible to all the confirmed participants
Students that meet WP criteria will receive:
£525 towards living cost + up to £250 travel grant based on flight receipts
All other students (non-WP): £425
2. Global Greenwich Bursary: subject to application
Successful Home Undergraduate students that meet WP criteria will receive: £500

Summer School at HM Munich University of Applied Sciences (Munich, Germany)
The summer school is a five-week program. International students participate in an intensive German Language and Culture course in the first week and continue these studies part-time throughout the program. Munich Summer School of Applied Sciences (MSSAS) offers in-depth study of engineering and business topics, integrating green issues with a focus on sustainability. Great importance is attached to the practical application using state-of-the-art technology and teaching methods in the courses.
Open to students in the Faculty of Engineering and Science only.
Dates: 5 July – 6 August
Cost: 1750 EUR (approx £1500)
Includes: Tuition for German Language and Culture class, two subject courses, the official cultural and social programme, welcome package
Not included: Meals, spending money, accommodation
Accommodation can be arranged at an additional charge of 1,500 EUR
Funding:

£693 towards living cost + up to £250 travel grant based on flight receipts
All other students (non-WP): £561

University of La Rioja – Spanish Language and Culture Summer School
The University of La Rioja, offers Spanish Language and Culture Courses. The environment characteristics and the size of the campus provide students an ideal atmosphere of cultural immersion for learning Spanish and getting in contact with other university students, both local and international. The programme includes 80 on-site class hours. Spanish Language and Culture classes, offered in several levels, according to the Common European Framework of Reference of Languages (CEFRL).
Dates: 28 June – 23 July
Cost: 815 EUR (approx. £700)
Included: Cultural and leisure activities, Spanish Language tuition and courses
Not included: meals, spending money and accommodation.
Accommodation will be arranged by the University and will come at an additional cost. More details will be available soon.

International Internship in Madrid with The Intern Group
