The Virtual Learning Environment delivers course content, such as individual lecture notes, or even complete sets of course content, and the module syllabus over the web.
Moodle is the university's online Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which is used to manage the majority of your course resources (both document and video), assignments, feedback, wikis, and even quizzes.

- The Moodle platform can be accessed worldwide
- The tools within Moodle provide the ability to:
- Provide additional resources, including reading materials, and links to outside resources in libraries and on the Internet
- Provide Interactive online group discussions on course topics with communication support including e-mail, threaded discussions and chat rooms, with or without a moderator
- Set and receive course assignments
- Provide assessment on assignments particularly of those assignments that can be marked automatically, such as multiple choice quizzes
- Act as a communication channel between students and staff
- Set self-assessment quizzes and questionnaires, which can be scored automatically

The service is available to all members of university staff and students
