Compliance status

The software has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • Some charts, figures, and icons lack alternative text. For example, text alternative is not provided for the charts and graphs on the Sentiment page. The same is observed for the word clouds on the Themes page and the geographical data on the World Map page. Alt-text is also unavailable for the user icon thumbnails and images in the posts extracted from social media on the Results page. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content. A request for inserting Alt-text will be sent to Hootsuite. Meanwhile, users may approach the GBS Learning Technologies Team for assistance.
  • A few of the non-text control buttons lacks text alternative. For example, the graphical navigation buttons in the menu bar on the top right corner of each page and the Chatbot Assistant icon at the bottom of each page lack accessible names. This fails WCAG 1.1.1 Non-text Content. A request for inserting Alt-text will be sent to Hootsuite. Meanwhile, users may approach the GBS Learning Technologies Team for assistance.
  • Some of the numeric labels have a contrast ratio below 4.5:1. For example, the data labels below the charts and figures on the Sentiment page has a low contrast ratio of 3.06:1. This fails WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum). A request for using contrastive colour scheme in the simulations will be sent to Hootsuite.
  • Some of the sections displaying charts and figures cannot be navigated with keyboard. For example, the charts and graphs on the Sentiment page, the word clouds on the Themes page, and the geographical data on the World Map page. This is also observed in the extracted social media messages and the sentiment metrics listed on the Results page. The same is also found in the figures on the Overview page. This fails WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard. A request for improving keyboard-only navigation will be sent to Hootsuite. Meanwhile, users may approach the GBS Learning Technologies Team for assistance.

For actions that require changes by Hootsuite, we will provide regular updates about our supplier’s roadmap for fixes.

If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Feedback and contact information’ section of this statement.
