The Microsoft Office Suite is a set of interrelated desktop applications providing word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and communication tools.

Microsoft Office can be used to create, edit, manage and even collaborate on popular document formats, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Microsoft 365 is a cloud hosted service provided by Microsoft, providing almost identical user experience through a browser based interface, rather than relying upon locally installed software.

- Create documents, spreadsheets and presentations in industry standard formats.
- Mobile applications - Applications for mobile devices running iOS, Android and Windows Phone are available.
- Web browser access - Files and folders are easily accessible via the applications button within Office 365 and enables users to upload/download files and also to edit Office documents online within the web browser. You can also work collaboratively on documents with colleagues at the same time.
- Install Microsoft Office locally on personal Windows or Mac OS devices
- 1Tb of online storage space (please see Data Classification Policy, below)
Eligibility
Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is installed on every Managed Desktop PC)
The Microsoft 365 website is accessed via office.com
Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 is available to all members of university staff and students. Some affiliate account holders may also have access to Microsoft 365 resources
