British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM

We are delighted to announce, that in partnership with the British Council, we are able to offer this prestigious scholarship for 5 women looking to study a master level degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) for the 2024/25 academic year. This is a fully funded scholarship for female students studying on an eligible programme. The scholarship is designed to support women to study and work in STEM fields, reach positions of leadership and network with their peers.

This scholarship will cover:

  • Full tuition fees.
  • Up to 12-months monthly stipend at the rate of £1,347 per month, or £1,652 per month for London metropolitan area, to cover costs of living, including accommodation. The stipend should align with any increase in rates set by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office for HMG awarded scholarships.
  • Financial assistance of up to £300 towards equipment to support online and electronic learning
  • IELTS exam fee (for scholars without a valid test of English).
  • Return economy-class travel from home country to UK.
  • Visa and insurance/NHS surcharge cost.
  • English course if required to meet university language requirement

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be or identify as a woman
  • Be a passport holder and permanent resident of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.
  • Have not previously studied at degree level or higher in the UK or lived recently in the UK.
  • Must have completed all components of an undergraduate degree at the time of submitting the application for the scholarship.
  • Must have been offered a place on a full-time postgraduate programme for the upcoming September 2024 intake.
  • Be available to start your academic studies in the UK in September 2024.
  • Meet the entry requirements and English language requirement or pass the Pre-Sessional English Programme for a postgraduate programme at the University of Greenwich.
  • Demonstrate case for financial support need for your study.
  • Agree to return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your scholarship award has ended.

How to apply

Applicants must first have an offer to study with the University of Greenwich before applying for this scholarship. We usually require students to confirm their place within 14 days, however we are happy to provide students until after the results of the scholarship for them to confirm their place.
