Nursing

Take your first step towards a fulfilling career with one of our pre-registration nursing degrees and benefit from excellent links with health service providers. All nursing students on courses from September 2020 will benefit from guaranteed, additional support of at least £5,000 a year, which they will not need to pay back.

Become a nurse

Joyce, our nursing student, shares her experience on the course.

Our courses

Our nursing degrees offer pre-registration training in adult nursing, children’s nursing, learning disabilities nursing and mental health nursing. We have also recently introduced nursing degree apprenticeships. All courses are taught at Avery Hill Campus.

Apprenticeships

Gain a degree while you are earning with a degree apprenticeship course. Businesses and employers can get in touch to discuss the options.

Communities and societies

Our student-led societies offer a space for growth and the opportunity to make lasting friendships. You can take part in activities through your department and the Students’ Union. Here's a sample of the societies you can join, and how we foster a supportive culture for nurses of all backgrounds.

Take a Virtual Tour

Our virtual tours are a great way to get a feel for where you'll be studying. Explore the facilities we have on offer below.

Research and partnerships

The Faculty of Education & Health works closely with charities, local authorities and the NHS. Recent research includes the career barriers facing black and ethnic minority nurses, health inequalities and the experience of vulnerable groups, and care quality in residential care and nursing homes.

The Nation’s Lifesaver

Dr Lesley Dibley’s innovate research into gastroenterology has been shared with 2,500 surgeons and 1,00 specialist nurses across Europe and given a voice to marginalised patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
