GPERC | Greenwich Political Economy Research Centre

Focusing on economy and social sciences

GPERC is a support hub, bringing together researchers that see social, economic and political outcomes as determined by power relations, institutions, historical context, and social norms.

About us

The Greenwich Political Economy Research Centre (GPERC) was set up in August 2015 with the support and collaboration of  the University of Greenwich and the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS). It is a research centre that brings together an innovative group of researchers who challenges orthodoxies in economic and social science research.

Our research provides concrete and progressive alternatives to the mainstream political economy theory, policy and practice.

Our research builds on multiple methodological approaches such as:

  • Dynamic panel data, time series data analysis, survival analysis, input-output analysis
  • Stock-flow consistent modelling
  • Impact evaluation
  • Simulation
  • Meta analysis
  • Network analysis
  • Surveys
  • Case studies
  • Interviews
  • Complexity theory
  • Critical realism
  • Historical materialism
