Notes

Notes on Master's fees

  • The rates above, applicable to students who have been assessed by the University as eligible to pay tuition fees at the home fee rate, are subject to ratification at Finance Committee. The university reserves the right to charge for any additional courses or credits and amend the fee due where necessary after you have completed online registration.
  • The rules on tuition fee charging rates and Student Support funding for EU, EEA and Swiss nationals starting programmes  from the 1st August 2021 are changing. This means that you may be required to pay a higher rate of fee and may not be eligible for Student Support for example from Student Finance England, this includes support such as tuition fee loans and maintenance loans. We are waiting for the UK Government to publish the new regulations which will give more information and will update our pages with new information as it is made available.
  • Home / EU fees for postgraduate taught courses and the MSc by Research (Science or Psychology) are subject to annual increases of no more than RPI-X (the Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments) plus 3%.
  • We will only consider an increase to the fee rate for continuing students if it reflects the increased cost of delivering the programme in subsequent years.
  • Part-time fees above apply only to Home and EU fee paying students.
  • The part-time fees charged will depend on the number of credits you are required and permitted to study per academic year. These will be subject to annual fee increases as outlined above.
  • Students starting courses in later years will pay the published fee for new entrants to the relevant academic year and will be subject to the published arrangements for that year.
  • Students categorised as studying for an equivalent or lower qualification may be charged higher fees than the standard published rates.

Notes on Research fees

  • Home / EU fees for postgraduate research courses (MPhil, PhD, Master's by Research) are subject to an annual fee-setting exercise and will rise annually in line with the fees set by UK Research and Innovation.
  • We would only consider an increase to the tuition fee rate for continuing students to reflect the increased cost of delivering the programme in subsequent years.
  • Students should contact the Research & Enterprise Training Institute for information on the length for these programmes. Bench fees will also be charged for some programmes. Contact the faculty in which you plan to study to discuss this.
  • The full-time fees for these programmes are paid at the beginning of year one. Further fees may be required if you need to repeat certain parts of the course or if you add additional credits.

Notes on MSc by Research (Science / Psychology)

  • Full-time fees are to be paid at the beginning of year one.
