Introducing SEBE: A Community for Excellence in Business Education

Bringing Greenwich Business School staff together to promote teaching practice, scholarship and research in business education, working alongside existing research groups to develop leadership in learning and teaching through mentoring and training.

About

Scholarship Excellence in Business Education (SEBE) was formed in January 2022 to bring together the excellent practices that exist in Greenwich Business School (GBS) and integrate them in a way that facilitates the sharing of ideas within GBS throughout the year.

SEBE hosts the annual Learning and Teaching Festival that shares best practice and research in business education within Greenwich Business School.

Our Mission

SEBE’s mission is to create a community and develop a sense of belonging by providing a supportive space for the sharing of learning and teaching practices within Greenwich Business School (GBS); developing scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL); and encouraging experimentation of innovative ideas in the context of business education.

Aims

SEBE aims to:

  • support excellence in Learning and Teaching (L&T) across the School (including our international partners) in a way that aligns to the University’s strategy
  • support the development and career progression of GBS colleagues in the UK and abroad with an interest in teaching and scholarship and management in higher education through mentoring, training and project sponsoring
  • support inclusion by offering an affiliation to staff with an interest in business education
  • integrate teaching and research working with university research groups
  • inform policy within GBS and the University
  • showcase excellence in L&T within GBS and across our international partnerships, also through the organisation of the yearly Learning and Teaching Festival

What we do

SEBE promotes CPD activities to foster GBS staff development in learning and teaching.

SEBE organises events to share teaching practice and pedagogic research including the annual Learning and Teaching Festival.

SEBE provides support for developing impactful learning and teaching projects.
